5 Tips What to print

Hello 3D World. We released new video Top 5 3D printed models on YouTube. We picked models from different categories to demonstrate how powerful 3D printing could be. Let's bring near what models we chose.

OTF knife

First model what we choose was OFT Knife also known as an out the front knife. It is a pocket knife with a blade that opens and closes through a hole in one end of the handle. OTF switchblade knives and gravity knives are restricted offensive weapons. 3D printed model demonstrates how well the knife works. We don't promote OTF knife as a weapon. We would like to just show how mechanism of these knifes work.

Radial engine

The radial engine is a reciprocating type internal combustion engine. In some languages, it is also called a "star engine". The radial configuration was commonly used for aircraft engines before gas turbine engines became predominant. 3D printed models of engines are common in education. Students could touch the model which is always better than just see it on the video or in books. In our video you may see motorized version, but model contain also handle for manual demonstration.

Multitool pen holder

Third model is multitool pen holder. Handy features of this model are seen at the first sight. Since we printed this tool, cards, USB sticks and adapters have their own spots and we always know where to find them. Thumb up for minimalistic design and layout of slots.

Wooden pot

This model was made from special wooden filament. This is the one and only filament that during the print smells good. Sanding, paint-coating or different ways of post-processing is more than common for models made from Wood PLA. After final phase prints look and smell like a nature wood. Wooden pot model is inspired by Greeks architecture. Greek Doric’s columns and water channel add historical tinge.

Marble castle

Last but not least model is Marble castle. I found videos about marbles and marble games few months ago. It was really satisfying to watch so we decided to print marble castle. This model took hours to print but result is great. Marble castle consists of 4 parts - castle body, spiral, cover and handle. The most interesting part is elevator for marbles (spiral). By rotating the spiral, marbles come to the top and runs down through one of the slides. Check how it works.
